WELLS PROGRESS IN FA CUP

HMW first foray into the FA Cup saw them run out 4-1 winners at home against AFC Liverpool. After a poor start The Wells found themselves 1-0 down but goals from Paul Banton, Wayne Harratt (2) and Damion Liddle gave The Wells a convincing victory and moves them into the next round with a home tie against Unibond opposition, Bamber Bridge.

WELLS v KINSLEY BOYS CLASH!

The draw for the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup has been made with the Wells getting a home tie against their local rivals Kinsley Boys.

  Date TBC but should be first week in October.

WELLS MOVE INTO PRESIDENT CUP QF

A 1-0 win against NCEL Premier Team Pickering Town last night moves HMW into the last 8. The only goal of the game coming from a deflected Lee Swift shot after 6 minutes.

The Wells started their League campaign with a 2-0 win over Yorkshire Amateurs on Saturday. Goals coming from Lee Dawson and Damion Liddle


Wednesday 28th July 2010

A crowd of 480 saw The Wells draw their latest pre-season game 1-1 with a Leeds Utd XI last night. 1-0 down at Half Time, The Wells came back with a goal from Gary Welka in the 2nd half to earn a well deserved draw.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped out at last nights game.

The Wells won their third pre-season game out of four on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over NCEL Premier Team Hall Road Rangers. Goals coming from Damo, Swifty and Tom Grindle.

Next up a Leeds Utd XI visit The Wells on Tuesday night - Let's get a bumper crowd down and give them a good "Fitzy" welcome.

The Wells continued their pre-season campaign with a convincing 2-1 win against NCEL Premiership opposition Matlby Main. Goals coming from new signing Colin Williams & Damo.


Monday 19th July 2010

The Wells second pre-season game ended with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of a Barnsley select XI in front of a crowd of 248 at Fitzwilliam Stadium on Saturday.


Tuesday 13th July 2010

The Wells started their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 victory over NCEL Premier team Parkgate tonight thanks to goals from Damo & Vinny in front of a crowd of 85.

Next game is on Saturday @ 2pm against a Barnlsey XI. Let's see a bumper crowd so get yourself down and support your local team.

No rest for the wicked as the 2009/2010 season ends, planning for the 2010/2011 season begins with the announcement of 2 high profile pre-season games for The Wells.

Wednesday 28th April 2010

The Wells ended their season with a defeat against Tadcaster Albion who were crowned Champions of the North East Counties 1st Division after a 2-1 win. The game was played in front of a record crowd of 452 at Tadcaster and despite the best efforts of Hemsworth, who took the lead with a Damion Liddle goal, they could not stop Tadcaster from claiming a win and lifting the Trophy.

Hemsworth finished the season in 7th place, three better than last year and will hope to continue improving and push for promotion next season.


Monday 26th April 2010

Tomorrow night is the 1st teams' final game of the 2009/10 season away at Tadcaster.

Tadcaster need to win to gain promotion to the Premier Division and a win will also see them crowned Champions. A win for the Wells will see them finish at least 6th and possibly 5th depending on other results so lots to play for.

C'mon The Wells - let's end the season on a high!!

Last nights postponed fixture away at Tadcaster Albion has been re-arranged and will now be played on Tuesday 27th April - it will now be the Wells last game of the season.

ASKERN & BARTON DEDUCTED POINTS

With the time of appeal over, the points deductions for Barton Town Old Boys and Askern Villa now come into effect.

Barton Town Old Boys were fined £500 and had three points deducted and Askern Villa are deducted ten points.

The League table has been updated.

Carnegie Out Of Trophy And Lose Points

Leeds Carnegie have been docked three points and removed from the Wilkinson Sword Trophy after fielding a player without international clearance.
